Declaration
We are gathered here because of our love for The Church of God and theocracy. It has happened again, The Church has abandoned theocracy by the actions taken on Friday afternoon, August 29th, 1997 by approving the Questions and Subjects Report. This report gives the General Overseer total authority over the General Assembly, the committees and the board of trustees, thus making him and his office the highest tribunal of authority on earth and thus in complete control of The Church of God.
Other departures include the violation of the General Assembly rulings and guide lines on several occasions. Teaching doctrine contrary to The Church of God which has not been approved by the General Assembly, namely their teaching on fornication and teaching that the kingdom of Heaven and the kingdom of God are not the same thing, while they are, in Christ’s own words, interchangeable terms.
Whereas, at the 1997 General Assembly, another departure from theocracy has occurred and their failure to humble themselves at the direction of the Holy Ghost. We must once again face a situation that requires us to stand for The Church of God, theocracy, the doctrine and to earnestly contend for the faith.
We will abide by the rulings of the General Assembly with the exception of 1990, 1991, 1992, and 1997. We refute and reject these business acts and accept all others, thus we stand separate from The Church of God, over which Bishop Robert J. Pruitt is General Overseer.
We have recognized the distinct move of the Holy Ghost during this Assembly and feel that it is necessary to appoint overseers and other leaders as necessary for the continuation of The Church of God.
We accept and recognize that God has given us further direction in this 98th Assembly and it is now clear to us that this is The Church of God and that it is clearly God’s Church and not just a place to stand. It is not going to be at some future time the Church but is right now, The Church of God of the Bible. We acknowledge there are still covenant people who have not broken their covenant and that they will eventually all come back to the fold as the Lord directs them. There is to be only ONE FOLD under God’s divine plan.
We have not broken our covenant, so there will be no need to renew our covenant. We will reaffirm our covenant because two new teachings have been added to the original 29. The church must be allowed to preach against sin and to call sins by their names.
Will you sign this declaration, thus pledging to keep it The Church of God?
